It was the opposite for me. Everything was amazing and full of wonder and possibility when I was a kid and it only got scarier when I became and adult and actually knew the details and the how's and why's of things.

Death wasn't scarier when I was a kid and that's probably the most scary thing of all.

Or when you thought the handful of adults you could hold a conversation with was the exception
