I’d say about half of the population has no real support system. Even if they wanted to reach out most look for an excuse not to help them. They end up relying heavily on themselves for their entire life. The other half are women.

Immortality would be extremely lonely bc anyone you ever love will die before you do. The book “Tuck Everlasting” touches on this, it’s a big issue in the “Twilight” series of books as well.
