Looks like the aftermath of a tornado. What happened here?

Beavers, rotting trees, strong current, purposeful cutting. I’m sure it’s a mix of all these things.

They lower the lake during the winter with the dam.

I am not sure but usually in the spring when the snowmelt is happening and to prevent flooding of the Skokomish river. It is back up by June/July for boating season.

The lucky soul who owns that house…. Gosh I love this state.

It is quite an amazing state

It basically always looks like this at the north end of the lake. It used to be a river bed and is wide and constantly depositing sediment. The stumps are from trees that were inundated by the dam creation, pretty common site in WA dammed lakes.

I live about an hour from here and spend a lot of time in the summer swimming and paddle boarding at this spot. Usually a bit deeper though. 😂
