I only just moved here from Wisconsin a few months back, and it's a breath of fresh air in every sense. While my cost of living has gone up a little, my quality of living has skyrocketed, and I earn a lot more than I did before moving. My observation has been that social responsibility is a big thing here, and WA is all the better because of it. It truly is amazing.
