Looking for recommendations on where to purchase a utility shed (~10x12 or 8x10) that will last more than a few decades. I know the obvious like Lowes and Home Depot. Any others?

If your handy, buy plans online and build it yourself. You can also get some cool new tools in the process and save thousands.

Most decent sheds will be expensive. Klotter farms in Ct might deliver to Worcester. To bad you couldn’t do it yourself. I saved a boatload building my own shed.

I built my shed 6 months after we moved to Ma. I feel your pain though. I finished half my basement after my first child was born. To say I was I tired is an understatement lol. Took me a whole year, but the end result was worth it though.

I built my first shed myself. (Used as a pool house) it was a lot of work. Off and on work on weekends took most of the summer. I bought a reeds ferry last year (10x20) Good quality. I build the base myself , to save money, using their specifications. 4x4 pressure treat with gravel for drainage. I’m happy with the shed . Went up in a day. They pre-build most of it and assemble on site. I think 7k for the shed and another 300 for the base

Kloter Farms is legit. They usually have a good sale in the fall. We ordered last September/October and had delivery last November. They did a great job with ground preparation. Our driveway is a driveway from hell and they were not even fazed by it.

The barnyard or kloter farms. Both are in CT and worth the trip. We did our garage with barnyard and are very happy

We got Eastern Shed Co. in Framingham to replace ours when a tree fell on it. A++

Did building permits come into play at all? I believe in Worcester it is technically anything over 120 sqft needs one. But I am not sure if this is something that anyone actually pays attention to.

We had one from Reeds put up last year. It’s a little more pricey than other companies and certainly a lot more than a DIY job, but we’ve been very happy with it. I had to ready the site myself but the actual build only took them maybe 4 or 5 hours.

If you're not concerned with aesthetics, You can't beat a shipping container for durability. Even the used ones come with a guarantee of water tightness. In terms of security they're tops. Along with that they're critter proof which comes in handy when storing any kind of feed, bird seed etc. A ten footer new will run about what you'd pay for a well built shed. Used in good to excellent shape $2500 to $3500 delivered. Every few years you spend a day with a wire brush and a can of spray paint to hit rust spots. The only down side is they're dark inside so you might spend a few bucks more for lighting. There's a place on Rt 148 in Brookfield that sells all kinds of containers.
