Question about the lithium blanket: doesn't it seem like a potential future problem? Will the lithium get used up this way? It's already a valuable material

It's valuable largely because it's not the easiest thing to purify, as far as I understand it. As far as elements go, it's not uncommon in minerals, and it's not ultra rare in seawater, for easy reading: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium#Terrestrial
