Getting Rid of My Car

Has anyone in this group gotten rid of their car? I have an old car that is falling apart and I just want to get rid of it (barely driveable). Is there a best way to go about this in the city?

I donated my van to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. They picked it up from my house. Super easy.

You could also scrap it. There are some haulers that will pay you 200-300 dollars for the car. They will show up, have you sign over the title, and then tow your vehicle. Make sure you grab your plates before they tow and turn those in.

I did that with an old Volvo 240 wagon with a stick shift. The guys who bought were pumped, because they did demolition derbys and this was a perfect car for that. Steel. Station wagon. Stick shift.
