Investigators found 43 of the accused priests have not yet been publicly identified, though 30 of them have died. That leaves 13 living priests who have not been previously accused of sexual abuse. Williams told the courts that the attorney general’s office has redacted those 13 names from the report. The redactions are intended to avoid further legal arguments that could tie up the release of the report.

Maybe priests should be allowed to have wives and normal relationships? Or just get rid of them altogether? Jesus fucking Christ

I'm not even sure being married would stop this. My concern is the issue could be just as much "the priesthood attracts pedophiles," as "being a priest makes you into a pedophile."

Plus, not having marriage and kids doesn't explain why other Christian denominations also have pedophilia and sex abuse problems (see: Southern Baptist Church).

Great points. And I don’t think it’s the ultimate solution but I look at it like… how many men in prison have male-on-male sexual contact which they would never be doing otherwise except for due to the complete lack of any other alternative for sexual contact? Trying to continue doing the exact same thing certainly doesn’t seem like a solution, too… I would take a reduction over the status quo especially since there’s likely no way to completely eradicate this behavior 100%

True, maybe it would improve things somewhat. Too bad bitches can't just keep their hands to themselves. They have literally destroyed people with this behavior, and have been badly enabled by the church's inability to stop passing the priests around to fuck up other people's kids. Those testimonies in The Keepers were horrific. Then to be disbelieved by basically everyone for decades? Forever damage to the psyche.

A friend of mine was molested by a local catholic priest in the 70s and he’s still obviously traumatized today 😞
