Hi, I am curious what books you were assigned to read by a teacher that you hated the experience of reading. Also have you revisited them and are they better after becoming an adult? I'm interested in hated never reread, hated and somewhat like better and hated and now really value types of reviews.
In my case it was Ethan Frome, that I remember being cold in setting and miserable to read. And the Scarlet Letter which had judgemental hateful characters and felt super extra long and tedious . And Crime and Punishment which forced me in contact with the emotions and thoughts of a character I despised and I didn't want to do it, every moment resenting the experience.
So what was reading for school like for you? Any assigned literature works, whether for high school or for college/university.
