The Road by Cormac McCarthy
The Passage Trilogy by Justin Cronin
Alas Babylon by Pat Frank is really good! Florida after nuclear war and how they survived in the aftermath.
I will check it out. Thank you for your recommendation!
This is a good one. I'll also add A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter Miller.
I will check them out. Thank you for your recommendation!
I will check them out. Thank you for your recommendation!
Earth Abides by George Stewart.
I am a newbie on this genre. I will check out all the recommendation. Thanks!
Wayward Pines - Blake Crouch
I am really happy to see all the response within minutes. All the recommendations will help me to get started. Thank you!
Jemisinβs Broken Earth trilogy, although not in the conventional way. Smaller βYear Without A Summerβ or Krakatoa-style events, called Seasons, are frequent enough that the society in the books has a protocol for coping with them. And then thereβs a really big one.
It's an amazing book but be prepared - The Road is very dark and unsettling. Not exactly a swashbuckling, hopeful, "let's band together to rebuild" type book.
It has extreme deprivation, depravity, and collapse. It's an unblinking look at humans scraping out their survival on a day-by-day (sometimes hour-by-hour) basis in a brutal, zero-sum world.
Closest comparison imo is Night by Elie Wiesel.
Swan Song by Robert McCammon is one of the best!
The Last Ship.
Very good pick mate!
This is brilliant, came here to recommend the same thing
Nevil Shute - "On the Beach" Feels more apocalyptic and feasible to happen than most; humanity self-inflicts wounds upon the planet, and cannot escape the chaos. How apt β οΈπβ οΈ
Also, you definitly want to check J.G. Ballard's tetralogy on elemental apocalypses (although one of the four book is no longer edited per author's choice) which are The Wind from Nowhere, The Drowned, Burning and Crystal World (The Burning World is also named The Drought).
Beautiful poetic writing, powerful and his characters are amazing.

I like reading Stephene king. Definitely gonna check it out. Thanks!
It sounds interesting. I will look further into this book. Thanks!
Itβs a series - start with The Fifth Season.
This book is recommend more than one instance. It makes it more compelling .Thanks!
These two books have been suggested multiple times. I think it will be worth checking them out. Thanks!
Thank you for your recommendation!
I hope that book does not have a sad ending! Thank you!
I am kinda afraid of this voluminous work! But gonna check this out nonetheless. Thank you!
How many books do this series have?
Don't. Each novel is relatively short and is to be taken independently. Each describes an end of the world/post-apocalyptic situation based on a natural catastrophic event (i.e. heat, draught, cold or wind) and the struggle of survivors to continue to live in this environment. Very romantic, beautiful and organic descriptions, tremendous and lasting sensations. You won't be disappointed.
Have a good read my friend. π
Just three.
It sounds intriguing now my friend. This can be my starting point of this genre. Thanks again.
You're very welcome. π
Thanks. This might be my starting point on this genre.

Maybe the Silo series by Hugh Howey fits the bill
