are you writing from your own personal experiences? thats the most important thing here. are you just trying to make yourself comfortable? or are you trying to tell your story?

It's not personal experience. I just felt uncomfortable with how this was portrayed. I have older friends who have gone through such a situation. And books that glorify r*pe is just uncomfortable for me.

You might want the writing subreddit, instead of the books one.

its an uncomfortable thing, thats how it should feel reading it. i dont know how it could be anything else. what did those friends say when you told them about your novel?

And I agree with you, it's supposed to be uncomfortable. But I can't understand how it's bad if it's from a female victim pov but okay and interesting when it's from a male pov when he's the one who initiated it, and touched her without consent.

I'm immediately sceptical because you said "females".

I think you should leave this kind of story to someone who has personally experienced this, and not just profit off the suffering of other women

So hero stories making profit about them r*ping women and they become sex slaves are acceptable and make profit, but a story of a victim is considered wrong and abused for making profit?

So if I don't experience it I have no right to write about it?

So all the stories with an mc who died many times. Did they have to die before they could write the story?

It's a very tough question. One I'm not sure has a proper answer.

It certainly has a place im stories and I think it's good that you want to het in the gnarly and gritty stuff. Instead of glossing over or glorifying it.

But beware that this is not one to make any mistakes with. You will need to nail this one. A bullseye.

And no, it's not really the right place. I'd argue that you go to r/Fanfiction.

More forgiving folk who tend to appreciate the more obscure and darker parts of things.

Good.

So I'll say that I do tend to read the somewhat darker stories often enough. Not sure how much of a help I can be but I'll offer a listening ear and whatever advice I can give you should you want it.

What kind of feedback did you receive? Was your low rating due to the story or the writing itself?
