A two hour commute with light traffic is very different from an hour commute in heavy traffic.

Used to commute from the burbs to Brookline for work. 45 mins to go to 12mi. Just torture.

I commuted from Portland to Waltham for about 9 months. With the right scheduling and no traffic, it wasn't that bad a way to spend 2 hours. I'd rather go fast for 2 hours than stop-and-go for 1 hour.

Fair point. I lived on Long Island for many years so I am very familiar with the latter and would prefer to avoid bumper to bumper for an hour

Boston is now the 2nd worst city to drive in compared to ny/la so understand there will be traffic if you drive
