I am looking to upgrade my trusty old Turtle Beach Ear Force Tango headset, which happens to have a few features that seem to be less common in modern headsets. Hoping I can get a few different recommendations to compare and price out. I'm looking for a replacement that has the following features:
- Must have a base station (not USB dongle) with optical input and virtual surround sound. I'm not sure if anyone makes one with dual optical input, but that would be ideal, since I want to connect both my Xbox and PS4 to it. I currently just have to swap cables and don't mind doing that if one with dual inputs doesn't exist, but it would be nice.
- Bluetooth connectivity for phone audio. I want to be able to stream music/podcasts from my phone while gaming. Current headset allows for independent volume control of each source so I can listen to both at the same time.
- Wired microphone connection, since wireless options aren't compatible with both Xbox and PS. I don't mind using the cable to connect to controller for the mic feature. I would love it if one headset allowed for wireless voice chat with both consoles, but as far as I know, this doesn't exist.
- Muting capability for microphone, either with a switch or by repositioning it.
- USB charging and ability to play while charging if battery runs low mid-session. Would prefer this over a headset that charges while sitting in the stand/base station.

I’m using a Razier Kira for the most part because it connects to Xbox and also has Bluetooth so I can listen to music at the same time.
When I feel like being really sweaty I switch to Razer Threshers which are a lot more sensitive but they don’t have Bluetooth and they’re not quite as comfortable. They also have a red light on the end of the boom so you can see if you’re muted.
