Salivating. Is that cheese or tofu? Jalapeños must be a great touch. I've yet to try shakshouka but I'm eager to cook it now.

Thanks man! Yeah it’s feta cheese, the jalapeños add a nice kick and acidity as they are brined. Highly recommend if you are in the UK to find Mutti tomatoes, they are imported from Italy and they truly make the dish.

It's one of the few dishes in my arsenal that is stupid simple, but really delicious. I've served it to lots of people that had never had it, and it always impressed.

Make a basic chunky marinara (sauteed onion, garlic, can of fire roasted tomatoes, whatever herbs or spices you want), poach eggs in the sauce to desired doneness, top with feta and cilantro, serve with flatbread for mopping up extra sauce.

I have two tiny cast irons to make individual portions with, but it's a shareable dish too if you want to just plop it in the middle of the table rather than spooning individual portions.
