I know that games have always costed roughly the same... but i am not talking about just the game

nowdays, to enjoy a game to it's fullest, it seems that you need to spend 2x the amount written on the price tag

With all the dlc, season passes, microtransactions, and even story dlc (looking at you mk11) it seems that if you don't buy everything for an absurd price, you'll have less of an experience than someone that did

Look at the sims 4 (i know, extreme example, but it's just to get the point across), the full game costs 1044,37€ currently. Do you think that's an appropriate price tag? And if you just get the base game (which isn't free mind you) you won't be able to do anything significant or actually fun, almost feels like a tech demo more than a full game without all it's dlcs.

This post was born because of street fighter 6, i honestly wanted to buy the game but then remembered all the dlcs of street fighter 5... In a couple of years the base game of street fighter 6 will be obsolete with far less stages, far less characters, far less costumes...

Can't games just constantly be 60€ (instead of costing less over the years) but with free dlc and updates? And perhaps in-game unlockables instead of paid skins and stuff?
