As an avid Elder Scrolls and medieval fantasy RPG fan, I can't help but feeling let down during what I consider my prime gaming years. I loved the games growing up, but I was too young to fully appreciate them or to be allowed much time to play before I moved out of my family home. I have played Skyrim to death since then and created lots of gaming time in my life, easy to do in your 20's with no kids etc.. now this period of my life is coming to an end with marriage and kids on the way and they have barely started making the next one.
The Witcher 3 really is the only other game that created the same sort of experience for me and I am thankful for that. I am also a PS gamer so only had the chance to play the Witcher 3 and not the rest of the series. As a PS gamer it was the cherry on top on top that even when we do get ES6 I would need to get an Xbox to play it.
Maybe I am being over dramatic and there are other games in the genre I have missed and I am open to suggestions, but it seems like the same story in many genres and we peaked a decade ago then everyone stopped making the games that we love. Elder Scrolls hit the mainstream with Skyrim, why stop there? i'm sure this has been asked an answered many times, but I felt like venting.
