Nope, I loved it.

You don’t have to do all the side quests.

Thanks! Yeah I’ve been just doing the main quests. Maybe I’ve just got unrealistic expectations.

Beautiful game. Looks gorgeous and mechanics feel great.

I think it’s also weird >!that they killed Miles Morales father. In the comics, his parents are both alive and it’s refreshing having a hero who isn’t an orphan, which is what Michael Bendis created Miles to be. Not an orphan.!<

My favourite takeaway from playing as MJ/Miles is getting a sense of human scale to the crazy stuff Spider-man handles.

That is such a dumb thing to say. Telling people to ignore a part of the game just proves the point. Spiderman side missions are always very repetitive and lack and any real creativity.
