This is absutely true.

I used a router as an AP a long time ago and currently changes everything to Ubiquity Unifi switches, routers and AP's.

But for OP Inwould recommend to go the normal way. I dont think he is into networking, so easy would be best.

Yes easy is the best hha :) thanks for the info. So ill probably just get 1 ethernet cable to the room and then get a switch or an extra router. What cable would be sufficiant?

Get at least cat5e and go for a Switch to connect everything to. You dont need to configure anything that way.

To be honest I am not that into other types. Laat I used before Ubiquity was Linksys, but Netgear seems to be good too. Maybe someone else can add to this.

Very true, just wanted to put out information, but I agree, a basic gigabit switch and hardwire is better and simpler for this particular case :)
