People pay top eddies for authentic brain dance snuff.

Unfortunately, you're correct. It's the mindfucks, people pay money to experience the feelings of people who go through it

It’s exactly that. People pay for braindances of people dying or being tortured so they can experience it. There’s a few missions that go into it.

Nah, it’s true, it’s part of the story in the anime too.

It’s also a concept in a lot of futurist sci-fi, including black mirror, and a possible evolution of real technology like Neuralink, if it gets off the ground.

That’s exactly what it is. I won’t spoil much, but some rich guy goes to a shady dealer and asks for a bd of killing someone. And some people want to feel like they’re dying or being tortured. Night City is a fucked up place

That's exactly what it is, CP2077 has a very dark underground and you dive directly into it. It's fuckin 'awesome!

grublets t1_iy60whk wrote

That is exactly what is going on. BDs are being scrolled of people being killed. “Connoisseurs” pay top eddies to jack in and experience it.

And on a side note, good on you for reading these things! There’s so much info in computers and shards that tie the stories together, but a lot of people miss it because they don’t read.

Some of the notes you find are fun to read and provide good background story. Enjoyed this game.

In the opening scene of Edgerunners the star David is watching a braindance snuff.

Yes it's common in that universe

There's nothing to find out, it means what it looks like it means, someone's making snuff BDs. The vast majority of these notes don't lead anywhere, it's just flavour, take them at face value and move on.

There’s a damn good movie that uses this concept, Strange Days.

Since you dont care about spoilers.

Yes you are correct, be ready to run into MUCH more fcked up situations than this too. There are many people who kidnap people just to create actual torture porn to sell to people. You will run into a few of these situations first hand, mostly the aftermath of them, if you do sidequest. Reading every little thing you can gives you a ton more lore to the world! Enjoy the amazingly fcked up world of 2077's night city and all its crazy stories! 100% was my game of the year

I think people misunderstood what i meant… i mean, how, in the beginning of the game after you get shot in the head, you wake up in the junkyard, and are trapped under some rubble… i was wondering if you eventually realize the whole thing is a BD Snuff film… does that make sense?
