Can someone explain what just happened? I turned the "Front Pink in" slider from 100 to 0 and the static noise in my headset disappeared. Submitted by Mhmd1993 t3_yfwdb3 on October 28, 2022 at 6:14 PM in headphones 14 comments 7

I suspect that if something was plugged in with an impedance that was optimal the noise floor would drop, but if it is just an open circuit there's no harm in leaving the gain down.
