10mm is so small, they will start breaking at like 80 db. So all the V-shape bloat lovers who buy these for cloud won't be able to listen to their extremely bloated crap rap.

10mm is about the width of an index fingernail for all who can't imagine that size.

How is this even legal?

yeah, DD drivers in IEMs are usually around that size. Now compare that to a tribrid like the Moondrop Variations where the 10mm DD is just one of 5 drivers and it becomes clear what type of headphone tommy is selling you here :D

Noob4Head t1_j5yqlo3 wrote

Yeah but this one is especially bad.
This kit is legit a $5-$10 USD mouse, keyboard and headset and they are selling them for $150 USD, the claims they make about this product too, it's absolutely ridiculous !!!

Yeah.

The drivers are circles. Tangents on a circle point in literally every direction on a plane.

Omnidirectional. It's just another way of saying "circular".

Duh.

It's actually super innovational graphene-sphere membrane made of several graphene spheres positioned inside one another and controlled by nano-electromagnets with room temperature superconductors, you should try it to understand what a deep vibrant rich sound it produces.

It's only a bummer they used those cheap-ass cables instead of ultrathick pure gold ones and that i made this up because i'm waiting for my bus and am really bored.

I don't get why people find this funny. Like it's a clothing company. They're not seriously in the headphone game. It's just some OEM stuff that they're putting their brand on. They don't give a crap if the specs are listed correctly. This is like going to Disney World and buying a shirt there and it's not the quality you expect for the high price you paid. You're really swinging at low hanging fruit here.

Who is this for? Tommy Hilfiger isn't exactly tied to gaming or audio enthusiasts. This just reeks of a "slap name on it" cash grab.

Tom Hilfiger at its base is for customers who have no clue about what an actual quality product would be. I've always hated their clothes, even when The Wu-Tang Clan would pimp them, thought they were fugly.

It's probably a 10mm Omnidirectional electret microphone capsule that got mistranslated as speaker. You also sometimes see cheap headsets with cardioid microphones erroneously listed as "noise-cancelling" for a similar reason.

forgotten_tomato t1_j61dlnb wrote

I will keep an open mind, but I remember some friends who were into the east-coast rap in the 90s that sported these clothes. When I saw them up close, the quality and the stitching didn't match the commanded price for their clothes. These are of course opinion on value since it's a luxury brand so my opinions should be taken with a grain of salt!

:)

1

L4t3xs t1_j61fmb9 wrote

I'm not really into their clothes either but it just happens their socks are pretty good and cheap. For the wallet they had tons of different configurations so you could find exactly your preference. Sunglasses are prescription so I did a lot of comparing.

I think many brands have a quite large variance in quality and price. Two big ones are Adidas and especially Nike in my opinion. When it comes to audio products Audio-technica has THE affordable microphone but at least the headphones I've had were fundamentally flawed and snapped just by normal wear. That seemed like a common problem, too.

I don't think many expensive luxury brands are good quality in general but more about looks and style. What I've seen Prada at least would fit in this category.
