What you're asking is

Can I tune a civic to be as good as a tuned or not tuned mustang

Not really, no

Because of every single factor, including the drivers

Or

Can I drop a civic engine in a mustang and it be as good as a mustang engine in a mustang

Not really, no

A true friend. I gave a good iem to a friend of mine as well. He completed another collage course and I have him a Tin T2. A shame he likes a little more bass but he's still happy about how clear everything sounds.

About the Truthear Zero I had the exact same impression you did, specially in the midrange.

The Q&A mentions that they are omitting the 2.5mm plug and that it will allow them to reduce the price. Not sure if it's lower than the SA6 ultra or the SA6 OG, but it does mean it should be less than $600.

Since it is measured on a rig, often those peaks will either be in a different area when on your own head. So you might accidentally be EQing the wrong way. As well some narrow dips are phase cancelations in which it doesn't matter if you try EQ it back, the dip will still be there regardless

yes the drivers are different, the design is different, therefore it sounds different. EQ can make headphones sound more alike to other headphone but it can not do something like changing the sound state

Whew, never seen that Q7 thing before, it sure does look like a beast. Do you strap it to your phone too? I was thinking about a similar setup, but I'm concerned with the cables, being usb on one side and headphones on the other, like, how can such a setup be pocketable with cables on either side?

How much better? I'd be using an android so that kind of narrows it down but my only hifi (midfi?) reference is the OG SR80, I had them for ten years, ten years ago. If amps are magical I may want one but otherwise I used an old PC and EQ. I didn't mind the sound of the SR80 but they were kinda bright or thin on the highs and not as boomy as I'd like, although controlled, it was a welcomed trade.

I was at an audio store one time, where I got to listen to things like the Campfire Audio Andromeda, Audeze MM-500 and LCD-5, Sennheiser HD 800S, Dan Clark Audio Stealth, Meze Elite and lots of other headphones. Among them, the Focal Clear Mg and the Utopia 2022. These two beat everything else in that store for sound quality. For my preferences of course. I liked the Clear Mg more than everything up to the Utopia itself. It‘s been too long to remember specifics, but the sound of the Clear Mg was pure bliss. The Utopia stepped the entire experience up to 11. It‘s just the best headphone I ever heard. Not as wide as an HD 800, sure, but my god is it good. This is of course highly subjective

The picture, sadly, is mostly for show. I couldn’t get the iPod to turn on but the point of the Cypher Labs AlgoRhythm Solo was to bypass the internal iPod DAC to use the AlgoRhythm’s DAC or, even better, use an external DAC connected via coax. It’s hugely nervosa and the internal DAC doesn’t sound very good. The amp is an ALO Continental V2, which uses a mini tube. It seems to emphasize overtones in an interesting way but isn’t very resolving. Both these are about 12 years old by now which is ancient for portable equipment. My Q7 is definitely more competent.
