So I was a android guy but when I went into sams club for some other reason a AT&T provider stopped me with a sweet deal and told me if I traded in my Samsung phones I could get 2 iPhone 13 Pro Max for free and my bill plus be 111 a month well after 3 hours I was getting frustrated and anyways he couldn’t get it to work so he said if I made a down payment for 1310 I could get Both phones and be on my way the day so I said fine. Well I didn’t get the phones that day and when I did I don’t get service in my area. Then I get my first bill and it was 312 and I went to the store and tried to cancel and get a refund but then wanted to charge me like 600 worth of fees and restocking fees. Plus have to pay the big bill. So I googled it and I guess there is a ton of people this happens to. But I ended up keeping the phones cause I didn’t know what to do. But now what can I do to try to get my money back somehow. I still have both of my original Samsung phones and there plans and now 2 brand new iPhone 13 Pro Max but one is paid for any help would be great. But corporate AT&T does not follow by that third-party AT&T store so they won’t help. Please let me know what I can do.

Only the carrier can unlock them. So you signed a contract? Tell I would call AT&T and keep asking for supervisors that can do something. At least let you out of the contract or unlock the phones or something. Even though they were sold by another company, AT&T handles the payments and the phones and the contracts.

I work for a Verizon retailer so i may be wayyy off but If one of the phones is paid for it should be unlocked or at least you should be able to unlock it. Also usually first bill is a lot higher because of activation fees so maybe next bill will be lower. I always tell everyone to stay tf away from 3rd party hourly workers like Sam’s, Walmart, Best Buy ect. Because they don’t pay the reps enough to care or to know how to do their job properly.

Yeah most of them are just kids who are not trained on the super complicated systems and constantly changing promos. And it doesn’t help and corporate hates retailers so they’ll do anything to trash them when they can.

I’ve seen this type of deal in my area in Orange County, those nice guys/gals at Walmart keep trying to greet me and offer me these type of promotions. I am glad that I did not fall for it, I’m sorry for your loss.

Keep in mind even though you own the phones, that since you purchased them through a carrier, they typically stay locked for 45 days after purchase.
