If you have apple care try to get the screen replaced. And after that apply a new tempered glass

A crack shouldn’t just appear. I’ve used my phone for a year or more with zero cracks of major scratches.

The reality of screen protector is that it will crack even in situations where original screen won’t crack. It’s all myth, protector or no protector it’s all same.

Counterpoint: I’ve had an iPhone since the 4s and have never used a protector nor cracked a screen.

Same here. I usually go caseless with no screen protector. Not sure how the small crack appeared but it’s a bummer. All I’m saying is there appears to be literally no downside to the screen protector now that I’ve added one.

No. I value my phone’s usability. There has never been a case where a drop cracked the glass creeen protector for and would have cracked the screen had he screen protector not been there. I don’t use them because they feel terrible too.

That was kind of the point of my post. I always assumed a screen protector would make the phone feel different. I bought a tempered glass screen protector and you can’t tell it’s on the phone. The screen feels the same and reacts the same to touch.

Just scam Apple; buy AC+ and turn it in in two or three weeks. Apply new screen protector, problem solved.

Same, I started this year though because now they look seamless. While I’ve never cracked my screen or gotten visible scratches I have gotten one or two micro abrasions, which are incredibly light scratches you can only see in very direct light as specific angles. It bothers me despite not seeing it in regular use and now that screen protectors are just near edge to edge rectangles I figured I would get oneS oh and it also helps that a friend of mine who works in one of the stores was able to hook me up on a protector

Could be a defect or stress fracture related to manufacturing. Doesn’t have hurt for apple to check as it would be obvious if it were from workmanship or physical damage due to handling.

The only reason I decided to use a screen protector on my phone is that my screen gets scratched to high hell and I'm trying to prevent damage on the actual screen and replace a screen protector for $3

I don’t know how you Reddit morons jump so such ridiculous conclusions.

You can tell the glass protector is there and it is not flat. When you need to use the edges of the screen it’s clearly in the way.

It’s simple to understand but you think you are being. Lever or something.

I never get cracks or big scratches however i get tons of microscratches on the screen which i hate hence the screen protector.

A case that puts adequate distance between three screen and another surface is the real protection and Not these “protectors”.

The glass protectors may have a little scratch protection but make no sense with cracks.

If they are harder than the glass, then the force goes through to the Screen and still breaks the weaker screen. In most cases they are weaker so just break. Complete waste of money as you just keep replacing them.

Just get a quality case

I used to run no screen protector on my previous phones because they had in-display fingerprint scanners that could be finicky with certain screen protectors. I run one on my 12 Pro, but that's also because it was used and already had one. I'll probably continue running them on future iPhones, though, since they can be had pretty inexpensive.
