Export all highlights from Apple Books application

I am using iPhone iOS version 16.1.2. In the past time (with iOS version before 16.0), I could export all highlights from Apple Books application at once (not in multiple times). Nonetheless, I have not been able to do it anymore since iOS version 16.0 or more. Instead, I have to export the highlights one by one. It is time-consuming. Is there any way to work around this matter ? or is there any alternative application (book reader) which can export all highlights in one time ?

Actually, you can export multiple at a time: on the highlights page, tap and hold one, wait until it “lifts”, then tap the other highlights one by one. With your other finger, use the app switcher to go to a note, drag and drop the highlights there.

Not as great as pre iOS 16, but it’s better than nothing.

Thank you for your suggestion. I also tried app named book highlights in addition to readwise. Both of them are good for books available on the internet. However they do not support personal library with self-created documents. So I changed my mind to MS Word app on iphone. Accordingly, I can make highlights and comments. If i want to export all of them, I can use a short VBA coding from PC.

Ah! Word files are kind of an unusual use case. Readwise might have worked if you exported word to pdf, but I’m not sure.

I’ve been through a recent “highlights journey” to sadly learn that pdf and ebook highlights are nonstandard across applications and platforms. I always assumed incorrectly it was trivial and standardized.
