My phone was working without issue today until it suddenly turned off, cannot power on, anything. When I went home I connected to my PC which brought this back to life, but then same thing of turning off occured.

Connected to Itunes to Update as I thought this was a IOS firmware issue, no fix, and made the issue worse and I can no longer restore, update, or enter DFU mode. the phone also disconnects by itself during the recovery process randomly which make it next to impossible to progress.

Error codes such as 4013,4014,2009, and 5 has appeared.

If anybody knows how to factory reset or recover this somehow, it'd be super appreciated, thanks..

Update: tried different cables to no success. It seems that when the phone shuts down for a restore/update it triggers the apple logo loop and essentially stops it in its tracks. Currently trying on Mac

SOLVED: took it in to get it inspected and seemed there was internal hardware damage in the battery and screen. rip

Those error codes are communication errors. It could be logic board issues. Which a restore will not correct. Try using a different computer and cord. If issue continues it probably hardware failure.

4013 usually means your software is out of date and not signed anymore, what version are you trying to restore to it in DFU mode?

I updated it to the latest IOS before it completely bricked, hoping it will fix the issue

-Also trying to going into DFU mode gets completely ignored by the iphone and just continues on with the logo loop.

Lmfao, that gave me a good chuckle

though, really, is it like some sort of BIOS for iphones? how do you enter it?

I always used to call it that because you'd end up in it when your jailbreak went wrong way back in the days of the 3GS... but yes it's essentially a BIOS, nothing shows on the screen and it only allows you to restore from iTunes

Here's the wiki page about it: https://www.theiphonewiki.com/wiki/DFU_Mode

yeah in my case it wont even go into DFU for some reason, just gets ignored and can only go to apple logo loop or the connect to itunes screen

How are you doing it? Press Vol up, release then volume down and hold power? Remember the screen will be completely blank

If it truly won’t go into DFU mode you’ll need to take it to Apple, they should do a restore for you even if out of warranty

currently I can get it into normal recovery mode (itunes logo) but even doing the VolUp, VolDown, HoldPower, ContinuePower with VolDown 5sec, ReleasePower with VolDown held 10 sec, still gets ignored, unfortunately.

Wait I think you might be doing it wrong, have you gone to YouTube and found a recent video on it to follow?

yeah following a youtube vid, the screen is in a loop so its hard to know if it cuts to black screen or its just in its loop with the between the logo flashes
