I use Standard Notes for everything on a daily basis, from work to shopping, etc. Been using it for a good 3-4 years now.

I know some website have more ads than content, but some site are just doing ads as it’s supposed to do. They earn income with it.

Fun fact that some people don’t know is that the built in Apple notes app will scan documents using the camera and save to your iCloud account. Just recently found out about this!

On the iPhone since they’re all the same I use Safari, with DDG as my main search engine.

I do have Firefox Focus as well for certain sites (you know the ones).

On desktop however I’ve been using Firefox for so long I can’t even remember.

i41CX. It mirrors the HP-41CX calculator, which is still the best calculator I have ever had.

When I was managing construction projects, it kept me from having to carry around another device.

Plus it uses RPN notation, and runs everything, synthetic programs and all, the original HP-41CVX would do. It runs on the iPad also, which is a big plus.

Honestly there are a ton of hidden features that very few people know about. I also watch a bunch of tech vids but I don’t remember seeing that anywhere.

Another one I love is the authentication setup for saved passwords in iCloud through the settings app. I wish Apple would just make that a standalone app like google auth though.

Crouton is a great one. It lets you import recipes and makes them really easy to use. You can add ingredients from recipes to a list in Reminders, have multiple timers going in the app, and create meal plans. The pro version is a reasonable one time payment and you can create a household to share it with other people.

Blink - Quick Memo.

It's basically a notes/reminder app, but in the most minimal form. White screen that you add text to that you can assign a color to (black for low priority, blue for medium priority, and red for high priority along with a push notification for any red item every 15 mins). When you're done with an item, you just swipe it down to remove it.

I like that it's not needlessly complex and can used for anything that pops into your head or a list you need to check off as you do daily tasks. What makes it cool is that you can just see everything at a glance and use the simple color system to see what's most important.

AnyList is awesome. Shopping lists, recipes from which you can add any ingredient to your shopping list, meal planner, shared lists so my wife can add shit while I’m shopping so just when I think I’ve got everything I have to go all the way back to the back of the fucking store….

With you on that. I do like how with notes you can a several page pile of documents and scan them automatically pretty much. Just gotta flip the pages and then you can do an easy PDF export.

With simply wise when you scan the receipt it will determine the merchant and place it into a column, the date, total, taxes. And all of the various line items and put them in individual columns for an excel/numbers, spreadsheet, export. It's a great tool I use for the tax man.

I actually don’t use any Google apps on a daily basis.

I feel like no one knows about Yuka, but it’s a wonderful app that tells you about the food and cosmetic/personal care products you buy. I’ve been using it for a while now and I can say I don’t miss foods with harmful additives very often.

Longplay. Like good ol’ “Cover Flow” it will show only ‘Complete Albums’ and then only those you haven’t listened to for a while, or play a lot, up to you. Etc. Works with Apple Music. Great for rediscovering albums in your library you haven’t listened to for a while.

Magica App

Tracks car fuel, travels and service intervals. From all the apps I tried, this is the only one that looks like an actual iPhone app. Also it has pretty nice tracking trigger (like the bluetooth connection to your car system).

I use Spark for email. They do get complete access to my email, but I’m not really worried about it. I don’t get sensitive emails.

Spark: an efficient email app that offers biometric authentication, unlike apple’s email app.

Tubecasts: a free app for listening to YouTube videos' audio.

Keepassium: a free password manager based on Keepass. KeePass is great for free multi-platform password management and Keepassium handles it wonderfully on the iOS/iPadOS end.

Misleading wording. The only ads they use are on the new tab page. Hundreds of companies partner with it like Verizon and what not. These are the Brave ads you turn off by disabling the sponsored image in your new tab settings.

I think it’s the best calculator app on iPadOS. It’s not that like other replicas copied from ios app. It has so much functions and you can write your problems with apple pencil or you can take pictures of them and it will solve them step by step.

I believe there are 2 native ways to scan documents in iOS.

(1) via Apple Notes -> stores scans in Notes but I want to have my scans in a file system because i use multiple non apple devices.

(2) via the Files app -> requires to open the files app and navigate to a specific folder. But I want to click one button to start scanning. I know there is a way with Shortcuts to do exactly that but from what I have experienced it does not work reliably (with Shortcuts).

tried it out. loved the structured way of the calendar, but had some problems with syncing between devices, editing the day on PC and not seeing it refreshed on widgets on phone or watch for until I opened the app on without :/ that was a boomer for me. but the app is great tho!

Stock Master is the absolute best for tracking all your investment portfolios and accounts. Charts and technical indicators are awesome. It can access your brokerage accounts for accurate and up-to-date performance, but personally I don’t ever recommend sharing account access with any service. Instead, I manually update it. Frankly, I cannot come close to summarizing all the features.
