I doubt they will be bringing out a new iTunes. Seems Apple are investing in web based streaming like Amazon and Spotify now that music.apple.com is a thing.

I mean if it does exactly what it needs to and nothing more, then sure - why not?

Occasionally I try to backup my phone to my desktop instead of relying on the numerous cloud options that covers most of my needs and it’s never a smooth process.

Finding it because the shortcut is broken, updating, doing multiple restarts, then trying to backup the device - it’s frustrating.

I hope they bring Apple News to Windows. I know the general consensus on Reddit is that Apple News sucks but I like News+ a lot (could be better obvs) and use it daily on my iPhone and iPad. Would be nice to use it on my Windows laptop too.

Same as the enhanced iCloud for Windows and Windows Photos (supposed to work with iCloud eventually). But only if using Win 11.

Didn't know they had a Windows Store vers. of it. Well colour me surprised!

And it ran well too?! Because iTunes never ran well like they did on purpose on Windows rig.

It’s underbaked. There’s missing functionality such as no lyrics and no system media control integration. I assume it’s going to get better but if this is considered good enough to be a “preview” then I’m not holding my breath.

I only use Windows on my work computer but I’m so glad to finally see a new Apple Music app. The current iTunes one is awful to say the least

I don’t see why iTunes cannot play some of the high resolution file types that are becoming popular…. We need more than just mp3…. It’s SO old.

I can't lose iTunes?? I use it every day. Don't stream music. It manages my library.

It behaves like a normal Windows application for you and not a slow clunky one? That’s always been my experience on every Windows PC. Certain clicks don’t register right away and it makes it feel very sluggish.

They're dividing the old monolithic iTunes app into separate TV, Music, and Sync apps, just like they did on the Mac.

Your media libraries aren't going anywhere. It's not a rewrite and the "new" Music and TV apps will work exactly like iTunes did.

When it comes to syncing photos to your iPhone, the windows .exe is even better as my MacBook. Funny but true. While iTunes on windows isn’t transferring very few photos, my Mac can’t sync several hundreds of photos, because it can’t transfer photos of that type of codecs. „Your iPhone doesn’t support that file type“. But ALL the photos and videos come from my iPhone, so I know that it supports that file type. And even windows iTunes can transfer them. Strange isn’t it?
