I own both 13mini & ipad mini 6. The 13mini is just a phone now, I consume most of my content whilst making/receiving phone-calls through my iPad mini via continuity... also, you can "one-hand" an Ipad Mini 6 ;)

If you like your Mini then just grab an iPad. Having a Pro Max is really great, but would cost you more.

I have AT&T on my personal 13 Pro Max and Verizon on my work phone. Coverage of course varies and there are some areas where my AT&T service is great but Verizon can barely provide a single bar. Also, vice-versa.

I always buy my own iPhones directly from Apple though.

If you can I’d recommend the 14 pro max over 14 pro if you plan on keeping long term. Battery life is miles better on the pro max. The regular 14 pro is pretty awful this year.

My personal preference is the larger phone and tablet, but if you genuinely love your 13 Mini, I say if it ain’t broke and all that…

The Simpsons episodes would be bigger, yes, but again it‘s your call..

assuming you’re doing a 4 year college term all 4 of these phones will definitely last you all 4 years and more to come

it just comes down to what you look for in a phone and what your use case will be

but i will say that the 14 is a bad deal rn because the 13 is 99% the same phone for $100 cheaper

personally i wouldn’t do it because the 8+ may or may not get iOS 17 this year. but even if it does, it will definitely be its last ios update. i’d rather get a newer phone. it doesn’t have the be the latest & greatest but just something that’s in the middle to last long enough

the 11 pro is still a great phone in 2023 but it depends on pricing

the 13 pro max is better but not $300-$400 better. go for a 12 pro max

honestly the 12 would be better in this case but if you really want the better battery or extra camera than the 11 pro isn’t that bad

what’s your use case for a phone? what’s your budget? because technically the best phone you can get is the 14 pro max cause it the top of the line phone but not everybody wants it for a factor of reasons

that’s only on a minority of 13 pros, don’t worry about it. go for a 13 pro

i'm on iphone 14pro max and i mostly use the default app now, in 48mp RAW and edit in lightroom if needed.

NOMO cam sometimes if i want the fake leica look and dazz cam sometimes too.

if i really need and want control i use halide and prefer it over procamera, because i like the button layout more.

but with the new camera it really is 99% default app, and halide only if i really want something special like long exposure shots, that computational stuff the iphone does now really is good for most situations.

Overall performance, essentially the phone will be usable for 4-5 years. Software mainly. I know I'll have to replace battery.
