What's the story with that bar on the corner? I've driven by a bunch of times and never stopped in.

I've been in a few times. It's fine, but it's definitely got it's local crowd of mostly Spanish speaking people. It's not the nicest place but they have a pool table in the back and cheap drinks. It's been relatively empty every time I have gone but the patrons there never gave me pause of any sort- at least say compared to the characters that hang around the Barge Inn bar.

It's a cool little dive bar. They have their regulars, many of them Spanish speaking. The workers and patrons are all really nice. They're also a Mets bar so if you want to watch one of their games it'll always be on there

So your looking to form an opinion of a place you’ve never been based on hearsay and comments from people you’ve never met. Gotcha. Pop in and have a beer, no one is going to stab you. Funny you call a comment saying “pretty sure xyz happened” as useful information.

I mean, it's a message board and basically half the posts are questions about where to eat and visit. Soliciting opinions on places doesn't seem out of line.

Sometimes you have to YOLO it without vetting it through Reddit first. I’d expect someone with a name like Liquor and Wh0res to be a bit more adventurous when it comes to bars.

sure you prob won’t get stabbed if you pop in, but it also could not be a comfortable place for most people to casually hang out. Both can be true.

it's been here for like 30 years and it's on the more intimidating side of dive bars hanging around. someone got stabbed there in last few years and pretty sure shooting as well.

Maybe not. Def does not have an appealing vibe that’s for sure. Live right around there and see pretty sketch characters more often than not.

Well maybe cuz you’re a regular. Just sayin in 5+ years the vibe has never been something worth investigating to prove I’m a man of the dive bar people but hey I’m a scared little white person with pee stains on my tighty whities. We need these kind of places to stick around tho no problem with that.
