I'm curious, at what point in the rental process are all these fees disclosed for services that everywhere else are simply built into the rent? If it's not in the listing it seems pretty shady to me. Apparently there's a lot about the hi rise renting world I don't know as a mom-n'-pop operator. I would be embarrassed to charge my tenants for taking the trash from the cans to the curb.

I lived in this building and the windows slid open allll the way, side to side. I was on the second floor and really hoped there was more restriction for the higher floors but guess not. I didn’t even have a screen on any of the windows when I moved in and had to beg the landlord, so not surprised to hear this story now. So sad and really hoping for a speedy recovery, he has been through enough already.

I still want a snitch program for bad drivers here. In NYC if a truck idles for more than 5 minutes and you record it the city fines them $350 and you get $87.50. We as civilians should have the ability to send in body cam/phone/dash cam footage and get people fined. If every pedestrian, cyclist and car could be fining you traffic would get better, especially if we have a monetary incentive to snitch on reckless drivers.

If I put a webcam on my balcony with high enough resolution I could probably pay my rent if we could get a $50 kick back for each traffic violation.

Lived in that area for over 8 years and NEVER parked on Marin precisely because of this concern... I see so many people drive down Marin like maniacs, all worked up over the recent changes (removing lanes, un-synchronizing lights, etc) and the only surprising thing is that we don't see more of this on a regular basis.

They are already down to a minimum amount. When they brought them back a few weeks ago, we all joked they would be gone in no time. And, people didn't disappoint... my last two visits had zero baskets available by the entrance and you could barely spot anyone carrying them inside, which leads me to believe most have been stolen again by now.

The legislation that allowed red light cameras on a test basis was rescinded (or, perhaps more accurately, allowed to sunset) because (as feared by many) some towns couldn't resist the corruption urge and started messing with the timing of yellow lights to shorten it. Once it was shown/proved that some intersections where the cameras were deployed had their yellow light duration shortened (in violation of mandated standards) the state did away with the red light camera test. So, if you are upset about the current state of things wrt red light cameras, blame the corrupt politicians that tried to squeeze more money out of people.
