In my yard I get grackles, mourning doves in my roof/awning, rock pigeons, sparrows, finches, occasional black birds, mockingbirds and cardinals. Near Morris Canal I spot a lot of what you mentioned, and at night during low tides you can often spot Black Crowned Herons.

A GoFundMe has been organized to support the family of Jersey City Police Officer Noel Santiago Jr., who passed away on March 24 after a battle with cancer. He was 43 years old and is survived by his wife and three sons; ages 4, 2, and 1.

Santiago’s wife organized the GoFundMe and shared, “To know Noel was to love him. He built friendships with almost everyone who he came in contact with because of his kind spirit, generous nature, and witty banter. He always made himself available to anyone who needed help or a listening ear; he was a protector to all. For these reasons and so many others, being a police officer was Noel’s calling. He had a way of connecting with people and driving them to do better and be better.”

The Jersey City Police West District also shared the fundraiser and stated, “Over the weekend we lost a brother and friend. The Go Fund Me was created by his wife, Stephanie. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Santiago family, especially to his wife and kids. Rest In Peace Noel!”

To view the GoFundMe page, visit the Go Fund Me page here. A total of $45,305 has been raised of out of their $100,000 goal from 284 donations.

My HR Block issue was a little unique in that I made the mistake of going with the one closest to me in UC and they paired me for the virtual service with an older woman who wasn't familiar with my tax forms and didn't speak English well enough to understand me explaining to her EXACTLY how to do it.

I understand the necessity of having Spanish speaking professionals here, but I have no idea why the company is allowing people to be paired with her indiscriminately or why she is called an "expert" when she had never seen some of the forms I needed.

I had to escalate the issue three times, go in for my VIRTUAL return, and then go to a DIFFERENT HR Block to finally fix everything. Company never got back to me about the case I opened about it.

Only good part is I learned enough about doing taxes through that whole process to be able to do it myself for the rest of my life. Ok, rant over, thanks for listening hahahha.

Nope, the phones in the classroom go to the main office and I’m sure the phones in the main office are just normal phones with no special connections. Plus, like someone else said, everyone is using their cell phones or laptops now anyways unless you need support from the office.. which during a shooting would probably be incredibly not useful.

The sole reason? No. Do I believe they deliberately courted high income folks to price out working class residents?Absolutely and it was extremely transparent at the time.

City spent 1.2 million on the ad campaign in 2014 after giving out tax abatements for luxury high rises. It’s SO weird how 10 years later there isn’t enough affordable housing and the only solution is more luxury rentals 🤔
