In short: inspections are recorded now, and the state has threatened to crack down on shops letting things slide. So the shops aren’t going to look the other way on anything anymore. Tinting isn’t an exact science, so if you ask to be right at the limit, and the meter at the inspection station shows you’re over, they’re going to fail you.
