YES you can have the inspection done early, so next year before you come to classes, get the vehicle inspection done.

I am not 100% up on the rules now, (been 5 years)but I doubt an inspection station can put a mass inspection sticker on a vehicle rocking a cali plate.

Good lick. BUT If I was you, for next year before classes start and you leave cali for school. Get the new inspection before you leave for school. It is a good idea anyways before you drive 2400 miles +/- .

Ya, goto rmv and get mass plates. If the vehicle is here more than 6 months it should have a mass plate anyways. Just make sure cali gets their plate back and all fees are up to date. they don't play when you own fee's on a tag.
