The old pine tree on a blue shield, a component of the flag before this one, would be fine by me.

The green pine on blue would be pretty good. But not on a shield. It's not really good flag design to have "background color, shield, thing on shield". That's one of the things we need to get away from with the current design.

I think it’s an ok alternative, but I think the current one is 1. Boring (which this one wouldn’t fix) and 2. State seals shouldn’t go on flags, just doesn’t look good or distinctive from a distance
