Do you qualify for Cobra? If so, you can not buy it now, but if you need it during those two months, then you buy it.

Cobra is always expensive. I'd rather get a cheaper monthly premium in case I need something.

I thought the same as you and had coverage set up to hold me over between jobs. It turned out that Cobra was $10 more/month and had exponentially better coverage. Alas, I had already set up and paid for the other plan.
