Looked through ancestry of MA, and 1 percent of the state is Arab, but an Arab can be someone from 7 countries in Africa (Egypt, Libya,Morocco,Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania,Sudan) and 12 in Asia (Yemen,Oman,Saudi Arabia,UAE,Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait,Iraq,Syria,Lebanon,Jordan,Palestine).

I remember hearing that a large number are Christian Lebanese and Syrians are here who came in the massive emigration waves from that region 100 years ago,but in general does that hold true, and have the emigration patterns from this region changed significantly?

Have had Muslim Moroccan and Syrian friends from parents who recently came over, but is there any large pocket or area this community settles in in MA?

Like are there Iraqi or Egyptian or Moroccan or etc pockets anywhere in MA?

There are Lebanese/Syrian populations in Worcester. Iraqis too. My SO moved to the US from Lebanon in '88 and her mother came over to live with us a few months ago, so add two more.

also Brockton area, for whatever reason. What’s actually sort of neat is my Maronite Catholic friends from Brockton know my Maronite Catholic friends from Salem NH. I think there’s only a couple of those churches in the State… one in Brockton and one in Lawrence?

I always found it really confusing about "white". Granted, I know many Lebanese and they easily can pass as Greek or Italian, and I met some Egyptians who either can pass as Southern European but most are much darker but still lighter than what most would consider "black". Also would even Sudanese who are full on black passing still be considered "white"?
