I think pretty much anywhere you could get a bad rat problem has trash pick up
Wayland doesn't.
Groton does not. We take our trash to a transfer station or pay a private trash pick up company.
Many of the towns on the cape do not have pick-up
Trash pickup encourages poor people to move into the town, you know.
Chicopee does
Bridgewater does not
I can maybe understand Weston and Dover, but Wellesley is significantly denser.I feel like that's just kinda dumb to not have trash pickup.
does concord not have trash pick up or just carlisle, and you have have to bring it to a site.
Concord has curbside pickup or you can get a private hauler. The town will pick up recycling for free. There is an extra charge for curbside trash (both subscription cost and per barrel fee). Details are on the town web site.
I am not sure about Concord. I know they share a school system but I don't think that extends to other things like trash so each can and probably do a lot of thing differently from each other.
According to my mom, who moved to the Cape in summer 2020, Falmouth is the only town on the Cape that does have pick-up. Everywhere else people need to bring their trash to the dump. (I haven't fact checked this so it's possible she's wrong, she repeats what other people who are wrong tell her a lot.)
Tyngsborough and Chelmsford do, Littleton does not.
why not? Every town I know that has to get their own is filled with complaints on facebook pages.
No pickup here in Needham
She’s wrong! We live in Bourne & the DPW runs trash pick up, weekly collection of trash & recycle. Other Cape towns have trash collection too, just not run by the DPW (including Falmouth, they use Nauset Disposal)
Needham didn't have it when I was growing up either. It blew my mind when I moved to Boston and Newton after trash got picked up for "free." I know you pay for it with taxes but still.
honestly though I can kinda understand, i feel like trash pickup should be commonplace unless its super sparse, like wellesley and needham are decently dense in terms of how wealthy suburbs go, they are even denser than lex

A lot of the well-to-do towns do not have it. Weston, Wellesley, Dover, places like that.
*I'm pretty sure Wellesley doesn't have trash pick up, guessing on Dover, but will yield to people who live in those towns
