Yeah, when phones used to have aux ports it was a simple plug and play. Then they removed ports, and I had to buy an Aux to USB-C adapter to continue using it. Or in your iPhone's case, Aux to Lightning adapter would work.

ahh yeah i actually had one of those adapters until i got wireless earphones haha completely forgot they exist
