In Germany products with „Cheetos“ must be relabeled due to trademark rights of the German product „Chitos“. The pronunciation is too similar according to a german court ruling the case (Landgericht Hamburg, 31. März 2016, Aktenzeichen 315 O 14/16).

The relabeling is done manually with stickers.

Honestly I don‘t think they are that popular in germany. Due to all the trademark hassle they are not sold in supermarkets but only in certain speciality shops and therefore too expensive.

It is a product but has morphed into a 'flavor' of many products.

I was responding to the folks debating whether to call them chips or crisps or something else...when the product was clearly popcorn (although "flaming hot Cheeto" flavored)

(The brand is Pepsico's FritoLay)
