I finished The Banshees of Inisherin earlier today and was left liking the film but unsure if I fully comprehended or appreciated it.

I ask this because I had a similar feeling when I watched In Bruges about ten years ago, a film by the same writer/director.

Fast forward to later last year, I watched In Bruges again and came to fully appreciate it.

I’m not sure if it is my naivety or my age, but I got the sense that I would better appreciate The Banshees of Inisherin ten years from now and after brushing up on the Irish Civil War (of which I’m woefully ignorant).

What movies have you grown to love more as the years passed?

Edit: thank you all for replying! It seems the most common responses are Coen Brothers, Kubrick, and Tarantino films, with a smattering of sci-fi that is more than first meets the eye.
