Yeah that scene actually bothered me quite a bit when I saw it. You know some asshole is going to see that and try to feed his dog beer or something stronger.

More toxic to dogs than humans

The reason he was killing the other hitmen was because he wanted to get the bounty $$, but it wasn't enough at first. The situation with the dog, in my opinion, was to make you feel emotions for it. That way, you can connect this to the entire reason why Wick got back into it, thus leading us to the scene with John and the dog.

I didn't like him either. I thought he was shoehorned in for no good reason and where did this character come from? Not established at all. Plus he's trying to big up the Marquis in that one scene and gets punked easily. Why would anyone want his help after that?
I guess that was supposed to be part of his mystique but dude just looked like a homeless man in Chicago. At first I thought he might be related in some way to that character Halle Berry played in John Wick 3. However his character just turned out to be a big nothing burger. The dog had more personality than the character.

He killed the other assassins in order to keep John alive so he could collect the reward later. I think the major reason that he changed sides is that after John shot the guy who was gonna kill the dog, Mr Nobody figured that the bodyguard guy and Skarsgard’s character was worse and he didn’t want to work for them. He also felt a debt to John. Also, while honor is a huge thing in the John Wick world, it seems to me that most of the big characters seem to stray away from honor, John himself among them.

Why did he kill other assassins when the reward was 40 mil?

So that they didn’t kill John Wick instead of him killing John Wick? The only reason he didn’t kill him was because John saved his dog.
HarleyKingII OP t1_je181so wrote
Why he is the only one who does that?
Tyro-Flakkripper t1_je19b7l wrote
I suppose he’s the only one that’s on his own. The goons in Paris are together depending on which district they are in, meanwhile Skarsgard’s men just want Wick dead and therefore don’t want to hurt the other people trying to kill Wick. It stands to reason that since he is neither part of the gangs in Paris, nor one the high table men then he would have to keep John alive until he himself can kill him.

Who said there will be a JW5? The current director said he plans to do other things, and Reeves himself said he will only return with the original director.
Also the ending seems pretty conclusive with a good story arc for John. Bringing him back would only be to make another movie for money.
I think Mr. Nobody might appear in the JW spin-off the Ballerina to give more context to his back story or why he needed a specific amount of money.
Or they wait to see how he is received and he gets his own spin off movie or show.

John wick 5 was actually in production before they started John wick 4

That was the original plan to shoot them back to back, but they canned that idea.
They mentioned that a while ago tho.
