What movie will people be saying in 20, 30, 50 years “yup, nailed what we’ve become”?

Personally, I think Ex Machina’s and Her both take interesting looks at what our future relationships with AI may grow into. We are getting closer to the point of being fooled more than easily, but even more so that our relationships will become deeply personal, whether to our detriment or to some new evolution of relationships in general.

Arrival’s look at divisiveness and unity of language feels pretty powerful right now, more in terms of difference of rhetoric and viewpoint as being divisive.
