You can always go and read All You Need is Kill, the light novel the movie is based on.

Yes the book is excellent. The movie copies some things from the book but they both stand alone. Great read.

It's good too. There's a different main character and ending, but same premise otherwise.

It was also adapted into a manga with the same name.

Yeah, both the manga and the book are very good. Honestly, this is probably the best film adaptation I've ever seen. They changed a lot, but it didn't make it bad, just different.

They honestly should have kept the title. Edge of Tomorrow is so… generic.

Apparently the word "kill" wasn't considered marketable enough to a wide audience.

Has anyone listened to the Audible "Edge of Tomorrow (Movie Tie-in Edition)?
Author is Hiroshi Sakurazaka

I want to listen to the original novel (since my reading skills are pretty crap), but don't want to hear the "movie version" of the book.

Any thoughts?

Yes, it's the original story and not a novelization if that's what you're asking. By "movie tie in edition" they're referring to the cover and title, like when a book gets made into a movie and they change the cover to the movie poster.
