I think he’s honestly on par with Jake Gyllenhaal and Joaquin Phoenix as the best actor of our generation. Well at least in my opinion, there are definitely a few others that are on his level, but I tend to favour him over them.
I love how he hasn’t spread himself thin. He takes a couple years off every now and then. And makes sure to do limited series and short films in between theatrical releases like Show Me A Hero & Scenes From A Marriage. He has the charisma to pull of something like Star Wars A Force Awakens and be the best character imo. And also do something like The Card Counter or Inside Llewyn Davis and give one of the greatest performances you’ve ever seen.
People are very divided on Moon Knight but his performance is just incredibly seamless between all the different identities, and he has to balance a lot of different tones in that. I was honestly just in awe of him in that.
He’s had only 10 years really to build up his career as a leading man. And has the career of someone who’s been doing it for 20-30 years already with the amount of quality he’s put out since then.
Definitely aware there’s no shortage of love for Oscar Isaac, but isn’t talked about quite as much as a Gyllenhaal or Gosling. And much like them definitely deserves it.
