It doesn’t necessarily have to be tragic or a movie about death.
I walked into Everything, Everywhere, All At Once, thinking it would be a cool sci-fi movie with Asian characters. Didn’t expect to go on an emotional roller coaster seeing minority characters featured in really emotional, vulnerable scenes that wasn’t about race necessarily, but about the human experience.
The other one I was thinking of was the Revenant. The music is so hauntingly beautiful and the story is so raw and honest that it haunted me for a long time.
