I had a friend whose fiance suffered severe PTSD from Afghanistan, he would wake up in the middle of the night, grab his gun and run outside and down the road with his gun drawn. He was pretty jacked and our small town cops didn't really know what to do. They started patrolling that street at night more, sometimes parking at the end of the road out of sight because they knew it infuriated him for them to be watching. He did some peer support stuff but it didn't help much. He started collecting semi-automatic rifles and my friend thought I was being a bitch by bringing up any concerns and we stopped talking. I really hope he got help eventually as he was a nice guy at his core. But man his head was warped from being over there. He needed way more than peer support.

There's a system in place for this. Do nothing until he kills himself. Or, if he is a rare type, he will murder some people then kill himself. Nobody bats an eye
