It’s a restaurant. I remember going there as a kid. Kinda like a diner style place.

Ah, the saucer on top of the Royal Hawaiian. As a kid spending my summers in the Crest I always imagined it was some kind of cool control room, or an arcade full of the world's rarest games. Never actually went inside so I never found out!

Wow what memories this brings back for me. The smaller building on the left is the Astronaut Motel where my family stayed every summer for 20 years. Now many of the old motels have turned into condos. Is this still the Royal Hawaiian?

Nah. It’s stationary. Kinda disappointing because as a kid I wanted to go in the spaceship and then it was a restaurant, and then it didn’t even do anything! Stupid beautiful view….

Also. One thing to note. There’s more than one of these style of buildings. It’s been awhile but I know I was in one that was a restaurant. The other was supposedly a penthouse but I can’t confirm it because of time and because I don’t know if the other is still there.

It's a flying saucer disguised as a restaurant. Alien cockroaches may try to use it to escape in the future. Or maybe they did already and my mind was wiped.

You think that’s just a cool restaurant, but it really is a spaceship hidden in plain site! There are two more in Queens!

the motel's restaurant. most of the motels along the crest had a coffee shop style restaurant on their top floors or roofs that served breakfast and lunch. idk how many of them still operate.

Nice! There was and still is a lot of cool buildings in Wildwood. We always stayed at the Bonanza, which, unfortunately, has been bulldozed and turned into condominiums. I will always remember the woody smell of the lobby, and the little banjo clock on the wall....
