I’m moving from VA to the Old Bridge area and was wondering where I could find some good farmers markets that are low to mid price range? I’ve tried looking at prices of other nearby markets but they seem to have mid to high prices. (I know they probably won’t be open until later in the year anyways)
Also, got any tips for gardening on tiny balconies? :, )
Farmers Markets are closed till the Spring. Not sure of prices but Delicious Orchards in Colts Neck on 34 is considered a Farmers market. They're open year round.
If you are looking for indoor Farmer's Markets, try the Pennsylvania Dutch Farmer's Market in the Kingston Mall Shopping Center on Rt. 27 in Princeton or the Amish Market on the far right side of the Columbus Flea Market on Rt. 206. Be sure to Google their hours before you head out.
Samahas country farm market in Aberdeen. It’s local produce but it’s a brick and mortar and they go to typical farmers markets held in parking lots.
516 farmers market in old bridge. It’s a Korean owned market (also brick and mortar). They have limited English but their prices are very reasonable for the quality of produce
Rt. 9 Farmers Market in Freehold is really an indoor greengrocer with a fish counter, a dairy fridge, a deli counter, breads, and a flower counter. Prices and produce are good. (I don't shop the fish or deli.)
Seconding this!!! Prontos pizza is right next door and delicious too! Definitely the cheapest produce you will find in central jersey, at least when I used to live there

There are quite a few in Monmouth County. Some are year round. There is great seasonal one on Rt 9 North in Manalapan, especially if you like fresh corn.

Thanks so much for your suggestions! For the farmers market in Aberdeen, do you mean the parking lot has a bunch of stands (just looking for clarification, I honestly prefer the outdoor markets :P)
And just out of curiosity, do you know at the top of your head if they sell Asian vegetables/fruits like bok choy, Korean radish, garlic chives, etc at the Old Bridge one? Because that would be awesome :)

Tomatoes are usually pretty easy. Lots of sun. Lots of water. Google “container garden” and you will find your people.

I garden on a smallish balcony!! I have the biggest pots I could find. You can even use those big buckets with the handles like they have at Home Depot. Drill holes in the bottom if you need to. I have the best luck with tomatoes, beans, zucchini, yellow squash, bell peppers, and cucumbers.
