Nearly crushed today by truck driver on I-95 north in the evening.

In the evening on my way back home unfortunately the truck side was closed so cars and trucks were all going up north I-95. I had a near death experience by a truck that cut me off. I am not sure if they saw me or not but I had to hit my brakes really hard to not get struck. Even then it was a near miss and had to pull off to the side of the shoulder before the barrier a bit not get taken under the truck. I have it on my dashcam and will pull the video again tomorrow, but it was scary as fuck. I was pissed but too tired and just wanted to get home. I didn't see a number to call if that even does anything anyway. I haven't been able to sleep thinking about how I almost died tonight. There has to be a way for accountability though right?

That sucks. I was thinking so many things. Like this guy nearly killed me and went the same route. I saw him pull over near the truck stop somewhere near South Kearny. I was picturing getting out of my car and whooping his ass lmao. But I was also thinking poor guy maybe he was very tired and didn't know. I have a friend who is a truck driving and tells me stories and these guys drive for hours and don't have the best job conditions. But still.

But have CDL requirements gotten more loose? Because lately truck drivers have been out of control. Driving in the left lane. Speeding. No signals. Swerving. I constantly am having near collisions with these fools.

If you can't see the driver in his side mirrors, he can't see you. I either stay behind tractor trailers or get quickly ahead of them. It's a lot of metal to control and it's possible he didn't see you. Never keep pace side to side with a tractor trailer.

Also the dump trucks on 287 and route 9 are possibly the most dangerous I've encountered.

There are exactly 2 blind spots on trucks. Directly in front of the hood, and directly behind the trailer. Anywhere else, the driver can see either in his mirrors, or by turning his head. The whole "blind spots on the side of trucks" thing is BS. If you're a truck driver and you believe it, try moving your head forward or backwards while looking in the mirror, you will be able to see 100% of the lanes next to your truck.

That said, there are WAY too many truck drivers out there that have no business being behind the wheel of a hot wheels car, never mind an 80,000# truck.

I reviewed the video and clearly shows I am in their line of sight. They cut me off really hard and did not use their signal. However, there was a sign indicating to merge up ahead. Which I believe they saw that sign up ahead before I did and choosing to make that decision right away. However, the way they handled it was not correct and nearly crushed me. Thankfully I was paying attention and kept a safe distance as I always do. If I was a little further up parallel to their trailer, I wouldn't be here writing this message.
